Cyber Bastards

This is one of the prototypes I created while at Facepunch. I spent a couple of weeks on this one in June of 2017.

After making an in-game console for Before I was inspired to take the UI and stick it in the game world, like the computer screens in Doom 3 and the Prey reboot.

From there I developed an electronics system, with cables, buttons, sockets and powered devices, and used the same console UI as a terminal to access connected devices.

I also took the opportunity to work on some simplistic FSM based AI, which at the time was a welcome break from the complexity of Before‘s systems. I added some little patrolling robot things, voiced by my good friend Ian Buckley.
